Graphic card dilemma

Postby SoleAris on Sun Apr 20, 2008 2:59 am

Im currently pickin out components for my next gaming rig and i plan to spend around $250-$300 on the gfx card but i cant decide whether i should go with:

2x Geforce 9600GT (each card is at just about $150)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6814133216

or

a single Geforce 8800GTS (G92)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6814150267

my other alternative to the single card solution was this ridiculously overclocked 8800GT (G92)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6814130335

both the 8800GT and GTS are priced at $250

From what I've seen in the past SLI was marginal gains at best; but hey if that's not true for the new cards, go for it :p

yea after reading the review from firingsquad.com and seeing some SLI reviews on youtube

SLI 9600GT is the best bang for the buck in the $300 range.....surpasses performances from 350-400 dollar single cards. Even tomshardware.com says if ur gonna spend within that range....go with SLI 9600GT

looks like my quad cores gonna be paired up dual 9600GTs
