Well what is a super good deal and what isn't, haha..Saving $599 according to Dell sounds pretty damn good, and if an 256mb 8600M GT gfx card will run Aion smoothly then why wait, especially now that I can participate in CB (Originally was waiting to buy a desktop just for release). It would be great if the M1730 dropped in price though in a couple months, but I doubt that will happen. It's currently $2399 for the starting model, and for the specs I'd really want from it would be closer to $3000

Let's just put it this way: dell's still making money on the machine when they sell it to you for 1499. :p

A lot of retailers sell computers either at-cost or for a loss, and only make money through warranty plans or accessories. The whole market-basket scheme. Provide the cool things you want, attach the $_$ things you need. The manufacturers themselves, though, wouldn't sell it if it wasn't a moneymaker. Why would they?

Yeah of course, I'm just looking for my best interest here. And May 2nd is coming up quick so I need to decide whether to get it or wait.

My monitor at home uses 1440 x 900 res. I love it, good for games, still widescreen, it's great, and gives good framerates.

So I'm back to the laptop shopping, and I'm still thinking that the M1530 will fit best for school and for Aion as well. Recommended requirements ask for a 6600 and other similarly weak specs, and the M1530 offers an 8600M GT, which I know isn't amazing, but will still run Aion smoothly. It'll also be a good all purpose computer, although the main program I'll run will be Aion obviously
